LETTERPRESS PRINTING SERVICES The Brother In Elysium offers letterpress printing services to clients interested in fine crafted printing and design. The Studio is a small, full service print shop that utilizes the traditional tools of letterpress printing, specifically, hand set type from a large collection of classic and rare metal and wood typefaces. These tools have been carefully selected and acquired over time, many are available only in their original form, outside of digital formats. The Studio welcomes a variety of custom print jobs including: broadsides, posters, announcements, letterhead and ephemera. The intention is to offer a studio that is accessible to clients. The idea is for people to come in the space and watch a proof being pulled from the press. This manner of working not only sheds light on the process of letterpress, but also gives people the chance to make decisions about the refinement of a project while the type is in the press bed. My practice in printing is informed by a background in visual arts, book design & production, and bookselling. Overall, the aim is to bring that knowledge and capability to each individual printing job, making type on paper stand out in its beauty and communication. The shop is located on the Southside of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York. Interested clients may make an appointment to visit the Studio and look over the specimen sheets containing proofs of a large portion of the type collection. A number of examples have been provided here of previous personal and job work.
